10,000 candidates from the state will benefit from the free coaching scheme, Chief Secretary gave instructions to ensure quality

Dehradun: A review meeting of the free coaching scheme for students from weaker sections for competitive examinations was held in the Secretariat auditorium under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan.

The Chief Secretary directed the Education Department to ensure the quality of the free coaching scheme, selection of candidates through screening, and preparation time to be arranged as per the convenience of the candidates.

He directed that there should be no lip service to the free coaching and that its outcome must be achieved. He instructed to complete all procedures expeditiously for this purpose.

During this meeting, Director of Education Dr. Mukul Kumar Sati informed that this year, 10,000 students will be given free coaching for competitive exams. Candidates studying in Class 11 will receive two years of coaching, while those who have passed Class 12 will receive one year of coaching.

He said that coaching will be provided for all three streams – Arts, Science, and Commerce – and will provide preparation for almost all exams.

In addition, meritorious candidates will also receive six years of advanced coaching.

Secretary Dilip Jawalkar, Additional Secretary Manuj Goyal, and other relevant officials were present in the meeting.
