Dehradun: The long-awaited major administrative reshuffle in the Uttarakhand government has finally taken place. The state government has transferred 18 IAS officers and 11 PCS officers simultaneously, making extensive changes to their responsibilities. This reshuffle is considered a major step towards making the government’s functioning more effective and establishing better coordination between departments.
According to the transfer list, Principal Secretary Meenakshi Sundaram has been relieved of the responsibility of the Housing Department. Secretary Shailesh Bagoli has been removed from the Drinking Water Department. The government has assigned Sachin Kurve the new responsibility of the Health Department. In addition, Dilip Jawalkar has been relieved of the charge of Director Audit. Secretary BVRC Purushottam has been removed from the responsibility of the Cooperative Department.
IAS officer R Rajesh Kumar has been removed from the Health Department and given the responsibility of the Housing Department. Dipendra Chaudhary has been relieved of both Secretariat Administration and the Ayush Department. IAS Vinod Kumar Suman has been removed from the responsibilities of Secretary General Administration and Project Director UDRP. Ranveer Singh Chauhan has been relieved of the responsibilities of Commissioner Food and State Property and assigned to Secretariat Administration.
In the transfer list, Ahmed Iqbal has been given the responsibility of the Cooperative Department. Ranjana Rajguru has been given the charge of the Ayush Department. Anand Swaroop has been given the responsibility of the Food Department. Dev Krishna Tiwari has been made Planning Secretary. Umesh Narayan Pandey has been given the responsibility of the Reorganization and Language Department. Rajendra Kumar has been made Secretary General Administration. Vijay Kumar Jogdande has been given the additional responsibility of Additional Secretary Election. Anamika has been placed on compulsory waiting. Praveen Kumar has been made Additional Director Urban Development. Meanwhile, Finance Service officer Manmohan Manali has been given the responsibility of Director Audit.
Regarding the transfers of PCS officers, Arvind Pandey has been made the Chief Development Officer of Nainital district. Dinesh Pratap Singh has been relieved of the responsibility of Executive Director Sugar. Anil Kumar has been appointed Deputy Collector Haridwar. Dayanand Saraswati has been relieved of his duties as Deputy Collector Haridwar. PCS officer Nupur has been given the responsibility of Executive Director of the sugar mill.
In addition, Pratyush Singh has been given the charge of Joint Secretary MDDA. Akash Joshi has been appointed Deputy Collector Haridwar and also Deputy Mela Officer Kumbh. Rahul Shah has been appointed Deputy Collector Udham Singh Nagar, Sandeep Kumar as Deputy Collector Pauri, and Manjeet Singh as Deputy Mela Officer Kumbh. Meanwhile, Lalit Mohan Tiwari has been appointed Deputy Collector Pithoragarh.
This major administrative reshuffle by the government is being linked to the state’s development plans, departmental work, and preparations for major events like the Kumbh Mela in the coming times. It is expected that the new postings of the officers will expedite the functioning of the government and administration. It is believed that another list may be released soon at the government level, in which some more officers may be given new responsibilities from the government to the field level.
