2 IAS Officers Transferred in Gujarat, Mona Khandhar Appointed Principal Secy, Science & Tech Dept

Gandhinagar: In a recent administrative reshuffle, the Gujarat government has transferred two senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers.

1996 batch IAS officer Mona Khandhar, who was serving as the Principal Secretary of Panchayats, Rural Housing, and Rural Development Department, has been transferred to the position of Principal Secretary of the Science and Technology Department. It is worth noting that Khandhar was already holding the additional charge of the Science and Technology Department, and this transfer formalizes her role there.

In a related move, 2004 batch IAS officer Manisha Chandra, currently the Commissioner of Rural Development and Secretary of the Rural Development Department, has been appointed as the new Secretary of Panchayats, Rural Housing and Rural Development Department. She replaces Mona Khandhar in this role. Additionally, Chandra will continue to hold the additional charge of the positions of Commissioner of Rural Development and Secretary of the Rural Development Department.

Both Khandhar and Chandra are experienced officers, and these changes are expected to contribute positively to the development initiatives in Gujarat.
