22 PPS Officers in Uttar Pradesh Promoted to IPS Cadre on Diwali; Check Names Here

In Uttar Pradesh, 22 officers of the Provincial Police Service (PPS) have received promotions to the Indian Police Service (IPS) on the occasion of Diwali. The Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) had approved the promotion of PPS officers from the 1994, 1995, and 1996 batches to the IPS cadre in a meeting held on October 7. Following the President’s approval, the Union Home Ministry issued the notification on Tuesday. Additionally, 439 sub-inspectors in the Civil Police have also been promoted to the rank of inspector.

The officers promoted to the IPS cadre include Bajrang Bali, Dinesh Yadav, Sameer Saurabh, Mohammad Irfan Ansari, Ajay Pratap, Naipal Singh, Kamlesh Bahadur, Rakesh Kumar Singh, Lal Bharat Kumar Pal, Rashmi Rani, Anil Kumar Yadav, Lakshmi Niwas Mishra, Rajesh Kumar Srivastava, Chiranjeev Nath Sinha, Vishwajit Srivastava, Manoj Kumar Awasthi, Amrita Mishra, Rohit Mishra, Shyoram Yadav, Ashok Kumar, Deependra Nath Chaudhary, and Mayaram. Notably, Rashmi Rani and Chiranjeev Nath Sinha are a married couple among the newly promoted officers. These promotions were made against 24 vacant positions as of January 1, 2023.

However, due to ongoing departmental investigations, the promotions of Sanjay Kumar Yadav (1993 batch) and Sanjay Kumar (1995 batch) will remain sealed until the inquiries conclude. Sanjay Kumar Yadav has been under suspension for the past two years.
