23 State Forest Officers Transferred in Uttar Pradesh; 20 Appointed as In-Charge DFOs

Lucknow: In a major reshuffle in the Uttar Pradesh Forest Department, the state government has transferred 23 officers of the State Forest Service. Among them, 20 Assistant Forest Conservator Officers have been given charge as Divisional Forest Officers (DFOs) in various districts across the state.

The transfer orders have been issued with immediate effect for most officers, while a few will assume charge from July 1 and August 1. This move is seen as part of the state’s strategy to strengthen forest governance and improve field-level efficiency in environmental and conservation work.

Policy Direction and Administrative Restructuring
Officials say the reshuffle is part of a broader effort to revamp the field-level forest administration, ensuring responsive leadership in forest divisions, especially ahead of the monsoon plantation drive and wildlife management season. The deployment of Assistant Forest Conservators as DFOs in-charge is also expected to provide hands-on administrative experience to mid-level officers.
