Haldwani: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off a group of 32 pilgrims for Gangotri Dham under the state government’s Matri-Pitru Tirtha Yatra Yojana. At a program held at the Haldwani Circuit House on Tuesday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami wished all the pilgrims a safe, pleasant, and auspicious journey. The Chief Minister said on this occasion that the objective of the Matri-Pitru Tirtha Yatra Yojana, run by the state government for senior citizens, is to provide them with the opportunity to visit religious sites and instill spiritual peace and joy in their lives.
This group of pilgrims, which departed on a five-day pilgrimage, includes 19 women and 13 men. The devotees included in this group will visit various holy religious places on the route including Gangotri Dham. Arrangements for accommodation, food etc. for these pilgrims have been made in the tourist accommodation centres of Garhwal Mandal Vikas Niyam. On this occasion, MLAs Banshidhar Bhagat (Kaladhungi) and Ram Singh Kaida (Bhimtal), BJP District President Pratap Bisht, various officials in the state government, Kumaon Mandal Commissioner Deepak Rawat, IG Mrs. Riddhim Agarwal along with many public representatives and officials were present.
