Dehradun: Power lines will be laid underground on major markets and routes in Ganganagari Rishikesh. For this, the central government has approved Rs 547 crore. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this.
A total of Rs 547.83 crore has been approved from the Central Government in relation to the proposed DPR for undergrounding of power lines in Rishikesh Kumbh area (Ganga Corridor) and automation (SCADA) of the power system in Rishikesh, Haridwar and Dehradun. By laying the power line underground, the citizens of Rishikesh city will get special facilities. This will remove the web of wires from the crowded markets, as well as ease movement in the roads and markets.
The Uttarakhand government is constantly trying to modernize the power infrastructure. Underground cabling will make power supply more stable, provide protection from disruptions caused by disasters and adverse weather, reduce maintenance costs and also improve the aesthetics of the city. Special thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this financial assistance.
