55.89% voting took place in Uttarakhand, Haridwar tops and Almora Salt has the least voting

Dehradun: The updated vote percentage of Uttarakhand in the Lok Sabha elections 2024 has arrived. According to the new data given by the Election Commission on Saturday morning, a total of 55.89 percent voting took place in 5 Lok Sabha seats of Uttarakhand. The Election Commission has also given district wise voting figures.

46.94 percent voting in Almora-Pithoragarh Lok Sabha seat

According to the updated data given by Uttarakhand Election Commission, 46.94 percent voting took place in Almora-Pithoragarh Lok Sabha seat. This is the lowest voting percentage among the five Lok Sabha seats of Uttarakhand. A total of 7 candidates are in the fray for Almora-Pithoragarh Lok Sabha seat. The number of voters in this Lok Sabha seat is 13,39,327 voters. But even half the voters did not exercise their vote. The main contest on this seat is being considered between Ajay Tamta of BJP and Pradeep Tamta of Congress. Ajay Tamta had won from Almora-Pithoragarh seat in 2019. Ajay Tamta got 4,44,651 votes in the 20219 Lok Sabha elections. Ajay Tamta’s vote share in that election was 64 percent. Talking about the assembly constituencies of Almora Lok Sabha seat, Salt Assembly seat had the lowest turnout in the state at only 32 percent.

61.35 percent voting in Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar Lok Sabha seat

61.35 percent voting took place in Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar Lok Sabha seat of Kumaon division. This voting is the second highest voting percentage in this Lok Sabha election in Uttarakhand. There were 20,15,809 voters here to decide the political future of 10 candidates. Of these, only 61.35 percent voters have cast their votes. The main contest on this seat is believed to be between Ajay Bhatt of BJP and Prakash Joshi of Congress. Ajay Bhatt has also defeated Harish Rawat of Congress in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Ajay Bhatt got 7,72,195 votes and his vote share was 61 percent.

Around 50.84 percent voting in Garhwal Lok Sabha seat

Uttarakhand Election Commission has also released the updated vote percentage of Pauri Garhwal Lok Sabha seat. 50.84 percent voting took place in Garhwal Lok Sabha seat. There are 13 candidates in the fray for this seat of Garhwal division. There are 13,69,388 voters on this seat, out of which only 50.84 percent voters have cast their vote. The main contest on this seat is believed to be between Anil Baluni of BJP and Ganesh Godiyal of Congress. In 2019, BJP’s Tirath Singh Rawat got 5,06,980 votes on this seat. His vote share was 68 percent.

52.57 percent voting in Tehri Lok Sabha seat

According to the updated data of voting percentage given by Uttarakhand Election Commission, 52.57 percent voting took place in Tehri Lok Sabha seat. Tehri Garhwal is at third place after Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar in terms of voting percentage among the five Lok Sabha seats of Uttarakhand.

There are a total of 15,77,664 candidates in Tehri Garhwal Lok Sabha seat. Of these, only 52.57 percent voters exercised their franchise to decide the fate of 11 candidates. The main contest for Tehri Garhwal Lok Sabha seat is believed to be between BJP’s Mala Rajya Lakshmi Shah and Congress’s Jot Singh Gunsola. There is also discussion that independent candidate Bobby Panwar can spoil the electoral equation of both the big parties. Tehri’s Rani Mala Rajya Lakshmi Shah has remained invincible on the Tehri Garhwal Lok Sabha seat since 2009. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah got 5,65,333 votes. His vote share was 65 percent.

Around 62.36 percent voting in Haridwar Lok Sabha seat

Haridwar Lok Sabha seat has seen the highest turnout among the five seats of Uttarakhand. According to the updated figures released by the State Election Commission, a total of 62.36 percent voting took place in Haridwar Lok Sabha seat. That means, in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Haridwar Lok Sabha seat is at first place in percentage of votes.

There are 20,35,726 voters in Haridwar Lok Sabha seat. Of these, 62.36 percent have sealed the fate of 14 candidates in EVMs. Former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat is contesting from BJP, Harish Rawat’s son Virendra Rawat from Congress and Jamil Ahmed Kasmi from BSP are contesting from Haridwar Lok Sabha seat. Khanpur MLA Umesh Kumar Sharma is trying his luck as an independent candidate. In 2019, BJP’s Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank won from Haridwar Lok Sabha seat. Then Nishank got 6,65,674 votes while his vote share was 52 percent.
