New Delhi: The Modi government has appointed 7 IPS officers in the Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) as Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs).
2005 batch senior IPS officer Sumedha and 2010 batch IPS officer Gagandeep Singla are among the seven officers.
Ms. Sumedha, who belongs to Himachal Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as the DIG in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for five years.
While Mr. Singla, a Rajasthan cadre officer, has been named as DIG for five years, with effect from January 12, 2024 and up to January 11, 2029. In November last year, he was named as the Superintendent of Police in the federal probe agency.
A Personnel Ministry issued orders regarding these new appointment.
Besides them, the five other IPS officers are K Siva Subramani, Dhurat Saayali Savlaram, P Murugan, Rajveer and Jal Singh Meena. They all are already working as SPs in the CBI, and have now been appointed as DIG for different combined tenures, according to another order.
