Dehradun: 84 schools of Uttarakhand have been selected in the second phase under the Prime Minister School for Rising India (PM-Shri). On the other hand, the Union Education Ministry has also approved 61.19 crores for infrastructural development in schools. So far, a total of 225 schools have been selected under the PM-Shri scheme in the state.
The central government is running various schemes to create an educational environment in Uttarakhand and increase the level of education. Under this, a big budget is also being allocated to the state. In this episode, all the schools of the state are being selected under the PM-Shri scheme. Crores of rupees are also being given to the state for the rejuvenation of these schools. This time the central government has selected 84 schools of the state in the second phase. For this, the Project Approval Board of the Union Ministry of Education has also approved an amount of Rs 61.19 crore for the infrastructural development and educational activities of the schools selected.
The good thing for Uttarakhand is that after the selection of these 84 schools of the state, 225 schools have been selected in the state so far. Apart from the state, the central government is also giving budget to change the face of these schools. Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat has also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for the selection of 84 schools of the state under the second phase.
Under the first phase in the state, 141 schools were selected under the PM Shri scheme. Under the provisions of the New Education Policy 2020, to connect children to school and provide better education, the students will also be given the facility of ICT and digital facilities, digital TV, digital board, audio visual system, band system, and musical instruments in the schools selected under the PM Shri scheme. During this, Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat also instructed the officials to complete the preparations for the third phase, so that maximum number of schools can be selected in the third phase.
Under the PM Shri scheme, 10-10 schools each from Udham Singh Nagar, Pithoragarh and Almora were selected in the second phase. 8-8 schools from Nainital and Chamoli have been selected. 7 schools from Pauri, 6-6 from Dehradun, Haridwar and Uttarkashi, 4-4 from Champawat and Tehri, 3 from Bageshwar and 2 from Champawat have been selected.
