West bengal: Transfer order for sr IAS, IPS officers ahead of polls

Kolkata: Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the state administration on Wednesday transferred several senior IAS officers, including departmental secretaries and the KMC commissioner along with 133 WBCS (ex) officers. Forty-six senior IPS officers have also been transferred, including the ADG (law & order). These transfers were made under the EC stipulation that allows none in the same post for over three years.

KMC’s new commissioner is Dhaval Jain, while Smrutiranjan Mohanty will replace him as the Howrah Municipal Corporation (HMC) commissioner.

Asansol Municipal Corporation’s new commissioner is Raju Mishra and Tshering Y Bhutia is the new commissioner of Siliguri. Binod Kumar will be the new principal secretary of minority affairs, madrassa education. Prabhat Mishra will head the PAR department while Roshni Sen will head fisheries, agriculture, aquatic and fishing harbour department.

Meanwhile, IPS officer Jawed Shamim, ADG (law & order) will now be the new additional director of security and ADG, IB. Manoj Kumar Verma will replace him. Santosh Nimbalkar is the new DIG, Jalpaiguri, Bhaskar Mukherjee has been posted as the DIG of Malda. Joyeeta Bose is the DIG of Darjeeling and Tarun Haldar will be the CID DIG.

Kolkata Police and Bidhannagar Police saw several transfers too. Biswajit Ghosh will be the new DIG (Legal) of Bengal Police. Ajoy Prasad and Subhankar Bhattacharya will be joint CPs in Kolkata. Abhishek Modi will be the new DC (Cyber). Indira Mukherjee is the new DC (Central). Zafar Ajmal Kidwai is the new South East DC. Saikat Ghosh is now the new DC (Bhangor).

Atul V was posted as DC (headquarters) of Barrackpore. Dinesh Kumar is SP, Bongaon, Pratiksha Jharkhariya is the new SP of Barasat.
