Patna: The news of taking VRS is coming from Bihar Chief Secretary Aamir Subhani. Actually, Aamir Subhani is retiring on 30th April. According to information received from sources, he has not got the extension, that is why he has taken VRS. According to sources, the NDA government under the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar has also approved Aamir’s VRS. After him, now IAS Brajesh Mehrotra can become the Chief Secretary of Bihar.

Till now, extension was given to the Chief Secretary of Bihar by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Earlier, both Deepak Kumar and Tripurari Sharan had got extension. However, this is not happening with Aamir Subhani. According to sources, the Chief Minister has no problem with Aamir Subhani. He has always been supporting him. But in the NDA government, BJP does not want Aamir to get an extension. At the same time, Brajesh Mehrotra, who took his responsibility, will also have a short tenure. Brajesh Mehrotra is going to retire in August 2024.

On the other hand, preparations are underway to make IAS Chaitanya Prasad the Development Commissioner. Chaitanya Prasad will retire in July 2025. He is currently holding the responsibility of Additional Chief Secretary of Water Resources Department. Before this, he was working on the post of Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department. According to sources, Aamir Subhani can become the chairman of the Electricity Regulatory Commission.

At the same time, Additional Chief Secretary of Education Department KK Pathak has also been released by the Bihar government. Nitish government has now decided to send KK Pathak on deputation to the Centre. KK Pathak himself had written a letter to the Bihar government regarding going on central deputation. Bihar government has approved this.
