Dehradun: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday participated in the ‘Developed India Developed Jammu and Kashmir’ program at Bakshi Stadium in Jammu and Kashmir. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in this program virtually from the Secretariat.
To boost the tourism sector in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated to the nation 52 tourism sector projects worth more than Rs 1400 crore under Swadesh Darshan Yojana 2.0 and Prasad Yojana. Under which Gunji in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand state is proposed to be developed as Shiva Nagari. In the first phase, work will be done to develop Gunji as a rural tourist cluster. Also, Champawat Tea Garden Experience is proposed to be developed in Champawat district.
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttarakhand along with India is continuously moving forward. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, our heritage sites present at various places in the country are being developed. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Adi Kailash, Gunji and Parvati Kund has created a global identity for this region from the tourism point of view. The schemes of Pithoragarh and Champawat will work to give a new dimension to the tourism of the state. He said that under ‘Darshan Yojana 2.0’, it is proposed to develop Gunji as Shiv Nagari in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand state. Under which, in the first phase, work will be done to develop Gunji as a rural tourist cluster. Also, Champawat Tea Garden Experience is proposed to be developed in Champawat district.
It is noteworthy that under the “Swadesh Darshan” scheme 2.0 run by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, it has been envisaged to develop rural tourism, so that local tourism can be linked with the main destinations of Uttarakhand. Gunji of Pithoragarh district is proposed to be developed as Shiv Nagari. So that spiritual experience can be gained there. In the first phase, it is proposed to develop a tourism facility center on 1.4 acres of land, so that tourists/local people can promote their local products, culture, village tour, art etc. The tourism facility center will be designed according to local architecture and local geography and environment. Whereas in relation to developing Champawat tea garden, it will be developed as Sustainable Ecofriendly Market keeping in mind the local architecture and natural purpose.
