Kishor Makwana Assumes Chairmanship of National Commission for Scheduled Castes

New Delhi: Kishor Makwana has assumed the charge of Chairman, accompanied by Luv Kush Kumar as a new Member of National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC). Makwana outlined his commitment to tirelessly champion the rights and interests of the Scheduled Castes (SCs) community.

Addressing the media, Chairman Makwana expressed his dedication to ensuring justice for SCs and pledged a proactive stance against any form of injustice. ‘Our mission,’ he stated, ‘is not just to deliver justice but to actively prevent any violations against the SC community.’ He highlighted the Commission’s role in advising and participating in the socio-economic development planning for SCs and emphasized the importance of maintaining social harmony.

Prior to his role at NCSC, he has served as a joint spokesperson for the Gujarat unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Additionally, he is a seasoned journalist and columnist, with a rich literary background. He is the author of over 33 books, including works on eminent figures such as Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Swami Vivekananda, and Shivaji Maharaj. His book on Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been widely acclaimed, with its translation into multiple languages and adaptation into a web series by Eros Now.

His deep understanding of social issues, particularly regarding SCs, stems from his extensive writings and research. Having authored nine books on Dr. Ambedkar, as well as translating and editing numerous works, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new role.
