Dehradun: Two officers of the State Police Service in Uttarakhand are soon going to get a chance to get promotion in the Indian Police Service. The Union Home Ministry has sent a letter to the Chief Secretary and the Union Public Service Commission informing about the vacancy of two posts for promotion in the Indian Police Service in Uttarakhand cadre. It is reported that Uttarakhand Home Department is going to proceed with the promotion process on these posts soon. For this, preparations have also been made to send some names to the Center on the basis of seniority.
There is also information that the file for DPC of State Police Service officers has reached the office of the Secretary of the Home Department. Actually, the official promotion quota of Uttarakhand cadre of IPS in Uttarakhand is 23, whereas at present 21 officers are posted. In such a situation, there are vacancies on a total of two posts. In this, a vacant post has been created after the review of Uttarakhand cadre of IPS. A vacant post has been created due to the retirement of Dilip Singh Kanwar, who was SSP of Dehradun during 2023. In this way, two officers of the State Police Service on these two posts will get a chance to get promoted to IPS.
According to the information, on the basis of seniority, the names of Sarita Doval and Harish Verma are at the top in the State Police Service. Whereas even on the basis of performance, there seems to be no reason to ignore his seniority. In such a situation, it is believed that these two officers may get the benefit of promotion. If the formalities are completed on time at the government level, then promotions are expected on two vacant posts of the Indian Police Service by the month of September.
On the other hand, at the government level, action can also be taken soon on grade promotion in State Police Service Kota. It is believed that Uttarakhand Public Service Commission can soon send its opinion to the government in this matter. After which the way for grade promotion can open after seniority is decided in Deputy Superintendent of Police.
