Dehradun: A review meeting was held on Thursday in the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan regarding the implementation of schemes run by various departments. In the meeting, the officers through presentation to Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan gave detailed information regarding air connectivity saturation in all districts, getting rid of unsafe bridges, construction of crash barriers on roads, supply of necessary furniture in schools, phased saturation with solar energy system, phased implementation of e-office in government offices, phased digitization of land records and other government records, phased bio-fencing saturation under agriculture, horticulture and forest department in the state, establishment and strengthening of self-employment centers, establishment of panchayat buildings in gram panchayats, establishment and strengthening of libraries, establishment and strengthening of theme based science and innovation centers in every district of the state, establishment and strengthening of indoor and open stadiums, establishment and strengthening of auditoriums/culture centers in district headquarters etc. Giving detailed information about the saturation of air connectivity in all districts in the meeting, the officials said that the target is to saturate all districts with helicopter service, and work is being done at a fast pace towards this.
The Additional Chief Secretary directed the officials to develop air services in important tourist destinations of the state. In the meeting, the Public Works Department officials informed about unsafe bridges that 94 unsafe bridges have been identified in the state, out of which 34 bridges have been renovated/refurbished and the work of renovation/restoration of the remaining bridges will also be done as soon as possible. Regarding suspension bridges, the officials informed that the estimate of 15 suspension bridges has been prepared and the DPR of the remaining will be submitted within four months. On this, the Additional Chief Secretary directed the officials to work in fast mode. On being asked about crash barriers, the officials informed that all the crash barriers identified in the state will be completed this year.
On the Additional Chief Secretary seeking information on the status of furniture in various schools of the state, the officials of the Education Department informed that the budget for furniture has been approved and soon the furniture will be supplied to the schools. On this, the Additional Chief Secretary directed the officials to get this work done soon. When the Additional Chief Secretary sought information regarding the establishment of solar plants in government schools, the officials informed that we have installed 12 MW solar plants in the year 2022-23 and this year a target has been set to install 15.5 MW solar plants in 2074 schools. On this, the Additional Chief Secretary directed the officials to identify the places where there are possibilities of setting up solar plants and ensure that an action plan is prepared and made available in this regard.
Discussing the implementation of e-office in government offices in the meeting, the Additional Chief Secretary directed that the work of e-office should be expedited and a meeting should be organized in this regard under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary and maximum work of government offices should be done through e-office only. In the meeting, regarding the digitization of land records and other government records in a phased manner, the officials informed that this work is in progress and it will be completed in a period of two years. During the discussion regarding bio-fencing saturation in a phased manner under the Agriculture, Horticulture and Forest Department in the state, the officials gave detailed information. On this, the Additional Chief Secretary directed that complete details should be available about where the bio-fencing is to be done and which species of trees and plants are to be planted in them.
While giving information to the Additional Chief Secretary about the establishment and strengthening of self-employment centers in the meeting, the officials told that 13 employment centers of the state are also being developed as self-employment centers and these self-employment centers will be covered with facilities like library, video conferencing etc. In the meeting, Panchayat Raj officials told that this year a target has been set to construct 250 Panchayat buildings. On this, the Additional Chief Secretary directed to make a complete action plan for it and ensure its availability. In the meeting, the establishment and strengthening of libraries, establishment and strengthening of science and innovation centers, establishment and strengthening of indoor and open stadiums and establishment of auditorium/culture centers in district headquarters etc. were reviewed in detail and guidelines were given to the officers.
