CS Radha Raturi participated in the workshop organized by Uttarakhand Information Commission for Public Information Officers of the departments of the Secretariat

Dehradun: Encouraging the Public Information Officers of the Secretariat to have better knowledge of RTI, CS Mrs. Radha Raturi said that with the strengthening of the Right to Information, transparency in the system increases as well as corruption is curbed. RTI increases the tendency of government employees to work honestly. With the coming of the Right to Information Act, citizens have got the right to obtain information about the work of the government.

Chief Secretary Mrs. Radha Raturi participated in the workshop organized by Uttarakhand Information Commission for Public Information Officers of all departments of the Secretariat at the Secretariat on Friday.

Chief Secretary Mrs. Radha Raturi said that organizing this workshop on RTI for Public Information Officers of various departments of the Secretariat by Uttarakhand Information Commission is a commendable initiative. With better knowledge of RTI, Public Information Officers will be able to discharge their responsibilities more efficiently. With this, maximum appeals will be resolved at the primary level itself. Chief Secretary Mrs. Radha Raturi said that workshops on RTI should be organized at district level and departmental level as well. She talked about making the work of the Commission as much online as possible, which will increase transparency and will facilitate the people of remote areas.

Information Commissioner Mr. Yogesh Bhat, Secretary Mr. Dipendra Kumar Chaudhary and Public Information Officers of various departments were present in the workshop.
