Multipurpose halls and sports grounds will be built in all the districts and big cities of the state – Chief Minister

Dehradun: The Sports Department should build multipurpose halls and sports grounds equipped with modern facilities in all the districts of the state and cities with a population of more than 50 thousand. The Sports Department should prepare a complete proposal in 10 days and complete them in 02 years. These instructions were given by Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami to the officials during the review of the Sports Department in the Secretariat. The Chief Minister said that special attention should be paid to quality in the construction works of multipurpose halls and sports grounds. Keeping special attention to quality in the construction works, arrangements for badminton, volleyball, basketball and other indoor games should be made in the multipurpose hall. The Chief Minister has also given instructions to make proper arrangements for their operation and maintenance.
The Chief Minister directed that all the schemes being made by the departments should be made in a solid manner. It should be ensured that the work of the schemes is visible on the ground. To ensure that the general public gets full benefit of the schemes, the schemes should also be promoted and disseminated through various mediums. All departments should also ensure that government institutions are clean. The Sports Department should run cleanliness campaigns in sports complexes with the help of players and departmental personnel. To promote sports in the state rapidly, the Chief Minister has expected the institutions to adopt a sport. The Chief Minister directed that the ‘Open Gym’ established in the Gram Panchayats under the ‘Mukhyamantri Swasth Yuva, Swasth Uttarakhand’ scheme should be implemented more effectively.
Information was given in the meeting that under the Chief Minister’s Udyaman Khiladi Unnayan Yojana, 3900 boys and girls in the age group of 08 to 14 years in the state are being given a scholarship of Rs 1500 each per month. Under the Chief Minister’s Incentive Player Scheme, 2208 boys and girls are being given a scholarship of Rs 2000 each per month and Rs 10,000 each per year for sports equipment. Under the Out of Turn Scheme, 31 skilled players have been given appointment. Vice Chairman Infrastructure Monitoring Council Mr. Vishwas Dabur, Chief Secretary Mrs. Radha Raturi, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary Mr. R.K. Sudhanshu, Special Chief Secretary Mr. Amit Sinha, Secretary Mr. Shailesh Bagoli and Sports Director Mr. Jitendra Kumar Sonkar were present in the meeting.
