Sunargaon and Kaimaria Son villages of Bhilangana block of Tehri will be developed as model villages- Chief Secretary

Dehradun: Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi reviewed the plan of adoption of villages by the migrant Uttarakhandis under the initiative of the Pravasi Uttarakhandi Prakosth at the Secretariat today. In today’s meeting, consent has been given to the adoption of Sunargaon and Kaimaria Son villages of Bhilangana block of Tehri district by Shri Dev Raturi (actor and hotelier in China), a migrant Uttarakhandi residing in China. It is known that on March 05, the Hon’ble Chief Minister had discussed in detail the contribution of migrants in the development of the state through a virtual seminar with the migrant Uttarakhandis residing in 16 countries. In this seminar, the Hon’ble Chief Minister had appealed to the migrant Uttarakhandis to contribute to the development of Uttarakhand by adopting villages in the remote areas of Uttarakhand. In this regard, first of all, hotelier and actor Shri Dev Raturi, who lives in China, has agreed to adopt his native villages Kaimariya Son and Sunargaon in Tehri. Shri Dev Raturi has expressed his desire to provide financial assistance for the education of the children deprived of education in these villages and to provide employment opportunities related to hospitality in China to the unemployed youth.
Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi has directed the District Magistrate Tehri to work together with Shri Dev Raturi on the action plan prepared to develop villages Kaimariya Son and Sunargaon as model villages. The Chief Secretary has laid special emphasis on effective coordination of government schemes and individual efforts in the villages adopted by Uttarakhandi migrants. The Chief Secretary directed that instead of construction of infrastructure in these villages, special attention should be given to economic development, human resource development, training, home stay, organic farming, and cultivation of millets.
Regarding the development of Kamariya Son and Sunargaon of Tehri as model villages, Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi has instructed the District Magistrate to work on an action plan to make these villages completely self-reliant. She has instructed to appoint a nodal officer in this regard. CS has instructed to provide 100 percent solar panel coverage in these villages, develop homestays, run a campaign for 100 percent literacy and educate the elders, cultivate local millets like Mandua, Jhangora on the vacant land of the village, organize group feasts from time to time in the Panchayat house to encourage the tradition of collective dialogue in the villages and work to stop migration by creating livelihood opportunities in the village itself.
Chief Secretary Smt. Radha Raturi has instructed the District Magistrate to immediately constitute a team and send it to these villages to develop Kamariya Son and Sunargaon as model villages. The Chief Secretary said that the implementation of the action plan to make Kaimaria Son and Sunargaon model villages has to be completed as soon as possible, so that all the migrant Uttarakhand residents can get inspiration to adopt their villages and contribute to their development.
Secretary Shri Dipendra Kumar Chaudhary, District Magistrate Shri Mayur Dixit, Shri Sudhir Nautiyal from Pravasi Uttarakhand Prakosht, Shri Dev Raturi, Village Pradhan of Kaimaria Son Shri Haribhajan Singh Rawat and officers of Tehri District Administration were present virtually in the meeting.
