CM Dhami did a surprise inspection of the Disaster Operations Center, instructed to remain alert for 24 hours

Dehradun: Due to continuous heavy rains in Uttarakhand, life has become chaotic. The current situation is that there is continuous torrential rain in the mountainous areas of the state. Due to which many areas have been submerged. Roads have also been affected a lot. Due to heavy rains, disaster-like conditions have been created in the state. To know the real situation of the situation, CM Dhami did a surprise inspection of the State Disaster Operations Center.

CM Dhami, who reached the State Disaster Operations Center, took stock of the situation of rain in all the areas of the state. He has instructed the officials to remain in alert mode at all times. The Chief Minister directed the Secretary Disaster Management to keep coordination with the District Magistrates himself. Along with this, CM Dhami also asked to keep regular monitoring on the water level of the rivers. The Chief Minister talked to the State Disaster Operations Center through phone from Nainital, Bageshwar, Tehri, Rudraprayag, Pauri, Dehradun districts and inquired about the rain situation, condition of roads, availability of electricity and drinking water and waterlogging. He instructed all the District Magistrates that traffic should not be disrupted due to heavy rains, and in case of damaged roads, they should be opened as soon as possible.

Better arrangements should be made for drainage in case of waterlogging. He instructed that in case of rising water level of rivers, people living on the river banks and other sensitive areas should also be made aware. The Chief Minister instructed the Secretary Disaster Management to keep a constant watch on the situation of heavy rains in every district. Work in better coordination with the districts, so that any emergency situation can be dealt with immediately. Also keep a special eye on all the sensitive areas of the state, excessive rain and disaster-prone areas. The Chief Minister said that immediate action should be taken on receiving any kind of information regarding the disaster. Also, emphasis should be laid on keeping the response time to a minimum.
