Dehradun: A young man lived on rent by posing as a fake IAS officer, absconded after duping the couple of Rs 22 lakh

Dehradun: A young man lived on rent by posing as a fake IAS officer under Kotwali Patel Nagar area and absconded with lakhs of rupees of the couple. Not only this, he also absconded after stealing the jewellery worth lakhs of rupees kept in the house along with the money. On the basis of the complaint of the victim, the police is investigating the matter by registering a case against the accused in Kotwali Patel Nagar.

Businessman Santosh Sharma, resident of Grant, has complained to the SSP that his aunt’s family lives in his neighbourhood. On August 20, 2023, the aunt’s daughter brought her friend Himanshu Juyal, resident of Ghaziabad, with her to live on rent. The girl introduced him as an IAS officer. The girl told that Himanshu is currently on study leave.

Himanshu told that he is doing PhD. He is appointed in FCI Balrampur. Along with this, he also showed his ID card of LBS Academy Mussoorie. On this, Santosh Sharma believed Himanshu. On the advice of his aunt’s daughter, he kept him on rent. One day Himanshu said that uncle Birendra Juyal is the director of All India Horticulture and he can easily get any big work done from him. He can get the victim a job in FCI.

It has been about 06 months since Himanshu started living there and one day Himanshu said that his house is being built in Ghaziabad and he needs help for it. The victim, believing him, gave Himanshu 6 lakh 23 thousand rupees. After this, he went to his home in Ghaziabad. When he did not return from there, the victim tried to contact him, but he started procrastinating every time. When the victim asked his wife, he came to know that he had also taken eight and a half lakh rupees from his wife. After this, when he looked in his house, he came to know that his wife’s jewelry worth seven lakh rupees is also missing. Not only this, Himanshu also bought a phone worth one and a quarter lakh rupees in the name of the victim, whose installments he is paying. It is alleged that now he is procrastinating in the name of returning the money.

Kotwali Patel Nagar in-charge Kamal Singh has said that on the basis of the complaint of the victim Santosh Sharma, a case has been registered against the accused Himanshu Juyal. The police is investigating the matter. Also, the accused is being searched by the police.
