Uttarakhand: Administration started preparations to implement Agri Stack project on a large scale in the state

Dehradun: In order to provide full benefits of government schemes to the farmers in Uttarakhand, CS Smt Radha Raturi has given a deadline to the Revenue and Agriculture Department to complete all the preparations as soon as possible for implementing the Government of India’s Agri Stack Project (Agri Stack – Digital Public Infrastructure) on a large scale in the state. She has instructed to prepare guidelines for implementing the Agri Stack Project. Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi has instructed to complete the work of digital survey e-Padtal as soon as possible by running a campaign to digitally verify the farmer registry of all the farmers in Uttarakhand and implement the ambitious project Agri Stack, which provides a unique farmer ID to every farmer of the state. With a view to ensuring 100 percent coverage of the Agri Stack Project in the state as soon as possible, the Chief Secretary has also instructed to ensure the participation of local communities and farmers by training them in implementing Agri Stack.  In this regard, She has directed the Agriculture Department, Revenue Department and Revenue Board to complete their preparations promptly and in case of shortage of personnel, to take help from personnel of other departments.

Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi said that Agri Stack will store all the information like farmer’s identity (Aadhaar), land records, coverage, income, insurance, loan, crop details and revenue records. This data will be collected through several sophisticated means, including satellite data provided by ISRO, real-time crop information through advanced technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning, GPS, and visual analytics, among others.

The Agristack system will act as a digital ecosystem to bring together various stakeholders in the agricultural sector, including farmers, government agencies, agritech companies, and financial institutions.The system will offer several other benefits, including enabling data-driven policymaking, promoting agricultural productivity, facilitating targeted delivery, and allowing real-time monitoring

Principal Secretary Shri Ramesh Kumar Sudhanshu, Secretary  Shri SN Pandey, Shri Chandresh Kumar and officials of Agriculture and Revenue Department were present in the meeting.
