Meghalaya Police Officers Nominated to IPS, Await Probation and Training

In a significant development, two officers from the Meghalaya Police Service (MPS), Bashanborlang J. Laloo and Abraham T. Sangma, have been nominated to the prestigious Indian Police Service (IPS) by the Government of India. The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification on August 2, announcing their nomination from the Joint Assam and Meghalaya cadre.

According to the notification, both officers will undergo a probationary period of one year as per the Indian Police Service (Probation) Rules, 1954. They are slated to receive induction training in accordance with the regulations governing IPS officers.
