Uttarakhand Public and Private Property Damage Recovery Bill gets Governor’s approval, damage will be recovered from miscreants

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government had passed the Uttarakhand Public and Private Property Damage Recovery Bill to crack down on miscreants in the state. In such a situation, after being passed during the assembly session, this bill was sent to the Raj Bhavan for the approval of the Governor. On which the Governor has approved the bill. In such a situation, damage can be recovered from the miscreants who damage public and private properties.

CM Dhami expressed gratitude

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed gratitude to Governor Lieutenant General (Retired) Gurmeet Singh on getting the approval of the Uttarakhand Public and Private Property Damage Recovery (Ordinance) Bill from the Raj Bhavan. Also, CM Dhami said that under this law, the damage caused to government and private property by the rioters can be compensated. Not only this, the expenses incurred on the government staff engaged in riot control and other works will be recovered. The CM said that no one is allowed to spoil the law and order and form in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. In such a situation, this law will be strictly followed in the state.

The bill was brought in the assembly session

In fact, during the monsoon assembly session held in Gairsain last month, the state government had introduced a bill for this law to be implemented in the state as an ordinance. After the bill was passed unanimously during the proceedings of the House, it was sent to the Raj Bhavan for the approval of the Governor. After the approval of the Governor, it has now become a law. Under this law, damages will be recovered from those who damage government as well as private properties during protests, strikes, agitations, riots and shutdowns.

Recovery will be made from miscreants and rioters

A claim agency will also be formed for action under this law. In which claim agency any person and authority of government properties can present their claim. However, a time limit will also be fixed to settle all these claims, so that the loss can be compensated as soon as possible. According to the provision made in the law, if any property is damaged during a movement or bandh, then it will be compensated by the concerned person or leader who called for the movement or bandh. Not only this, along with compensating the damaged property, a fine of up to Rs 8 lakh and government expenditure on riot control will also have to be paid.
