CS held a meeting regarding the organization of Uttarakhand Skill Development and Employment Conference by Planning Department and Setu Commission

Dehradun: Chief Secretary Radha Raturi held a meeting regarding the preparations for the Uttarakhand Skill Development and Employment Conference to be organized by Planning Department and Setu Commission in the coming October. The Chief Secretary has directed to connect NITI Aayog, International Labour Organization, Institute of Human Development, Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, UNDP and UNICEF with this conference which is being organized with the objective of empowering the youth of the state through skill development and solving their employment challenges along with brainstorming on strategies for inclusive and sustainable development. The Chief Secretary directed to organize a special session in the said conference on employment opportunities abroad for the youth and conducting skill development courses for the youth as per the requirements of foreign countries. He has also instructed to work on a strategy to conduct courses in foreign languages ​​along with skill development. The Chief Secretary has instructed all the departments to work towards skill development in an integrated manner with effective coordination. The Chief Secretary has especially instructed the Forest Department to ensure its participation in skill development and work on an action plan to train local youth as nature guides for the tourists coming to the state for trekking.

Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has instructed to increase strong participation between government departments and institutions, educational institutions, private sector and non-governmental organizations to increase skill development and employment opportunities. Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, Sachin Kurve and officials of the concerned departments were present in the meeting.
