Uttarakhand was highlighted in Prime Minister Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat”, whenever the opportunity came, he gave the example of Devbhoomi to the country, this time the campaign of cleanliness and environmental protection was appreciated

Dehradun. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a special attachment to Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand has been featured in the Prime Minister’s “Mann Ki Baat” program. On the commencement of Sharadiya Navratri on October 3, the “Mann Ki Baat program” will complete ten years. In these ten years, Prime Minister Modi mentioned Uttarakhand many times. He said that women, youth and various social organizations in Uttarakhand have set an ideal example in front of the whole country and society through their work. Describing many works as inspirational, he attracted the attention of the whole country towards this.

Dhanyavad Prakriti Abhiyan should start in every village

In the 114th edition of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned the border village Jhala of Uttarkashi district. The villagers of this village spend two-three hours every day in cleaning the village. All the garbage of the village is picked up and kept at a designated place outside the village. The villagers have named it Dhanyavad Prakriti Abhiyan. The Prime Minister praised the villagers’ campaign and said that this campaign should be started in every village of the country.

Women revived water sources in Jakholi

Women in Luthiag village panchayat of Jakholi block of Rudraprayag district have taken a commendable initiative towards water conservation. Rain water was conserved by making a chaal-khal (small lake). With the revival of dried up natural water sources in the village due to this campaign, the shortage of drinking water has been overcome to a great extent and water has also started coming for irrigation. The Prime Minister praised the efforts of the women and called it exemplary. Here the villagers had to travel three kilometers on foot for water.

Travelled 5-7 km on foot every day to get corona vaccine

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised ANM Poonam Nautiyal of Bageshwar for doing excellent work during the Corona period in Mann Ki Baat. Poonam travelled five to seven km on foot every day to get the corona vaccine. Poonam also made those who were afraid of getting the vaccine aware. The PM himself also spoke to Poonam. PM said that due to it being a hilly area, he had to carry all the vaccination material on his shoulders.

Surendra engaged in cleanliness campaign

Surendra Prasad Bagwadi of Guptkashi is engaged in cleanliness campaign. When he saw the then District Magistrate of Rudraprayag Mangesh Ghildiyal cleaning the Gadera, he also decided to get involved in cleaning. He is the pilgrimage priest of Kedarnath.

Ran Samaj working to save dialect and language

The Prime Minister mentioned the Ran Samaj of Dharchula in his Mann Ki Baat. The Prime Minister praised the efforts being made by the Ran Samaj to save their dialect and called it an initiative to show the way to the whole world. PM said that he read the story of the efforts of the people of Ran Samaj in Dharchula to save their dialect in a book.

Manoj engaged in freeing holy places from plastic waste

Manoj Bainjwal of Rudraprayag is engaged in freeing holy places from plastic waste. PM has praised him. He cleaned the ghats which were filled with garbage and started Aarti there. Other people were also connected to it. Now people have stopped spreading garbage there. He started a campaign to make the Bugyals like Tungnath, Basukital etc. free from garbage. Now he is making students aware in schools.

Gayatri told the pain of Rispana

Gayatri, a student resident of Deepnagar, Dehradun, had put forth the pain of the Rispana river in front of the Prime Minister. She told that this river has almost dried up now. The Prime Minister had played the recording of their conversation to the whole country in the Mann Ki Baat program.

Books reaching remote areas through Ghoda Library

Some youth in Nainital district have started a unique Ghoda Library for children. The Prime Minister has praised this work. The specialty of this library is that books are reaching children through it even in the most remote areas and this service is absolutely free. So far, 12 villages of Nainital have been covered through it. Local people are also coming forward to help in this noble work related to children’s education.

Greenery grown in school premises

The Prime Minister had appreciated the experiment done for water conservation by Santosh Negi, a math teacher in Government Inter College Kotdwar. Santosh Negi made two hundred pits in the college campus and collected rainwater in them, due to which the entire campus was filled with greenery.

Drain that was dry for ten years was revived

Retired teacher Sachidanand Bharti, resident of Ufrekhal of Bironkhal block of Pauri district, conserved rainwater by making chaal khaal in Ufrekhal in the year 1989. He made more than 30 thousand chaal-khaal and planted oak and rhododendron trees. As a result, the drain that was dry for 10 years was revived. He has named his campaign as Pani Rakho.

Bhojanmata is also making people aware about cleanliness

Champa Devi of Devargaon of Guptakashi is the Bhojanmata in the school and is making people aware about cleanliness and environmental conservation. She has made the barren land green by planting trees on it.

Chamoli women making art pieces on Bhojpatra

Women are reminding us of the ancient culture by writing on the bark of the rare Bhojpatra, which grows in the high Himalayan region of Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. During the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Badrinath, women of the border Niti Mana Valley presented him a congratulatory letter written on Bhojpatra. After this, the Prime Minister praised this initiative of women in his Mann Ki Baat program regarding making soviets from Bhojpatra.

Youths made a drone to keep an eye on crocodiles

Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned the Rotor Company located in Roorkee area in his Mann Ki Baat. He said that the youth are bringing forth new innovations for wildlife conservation and eco-tourism. Rotor Precision Group in Roorkee has made such a drone with the help of Wildlife Institute, which is helping in keeping an eye on crocodiles in the river.

Puran Singh is engaged in the preservation of folk culture

Puran Singh, a resident of Rima village of Bageshwar district, is engaged in the preservation of the folk culture of Uttarakhand. He has made a special identity in the singing of Uttarakhand’s folk genre Jagar, Nyoli, Hudka Bol, Rajula Malushahi folk tales. Puran Singh lost both his eyes in childhood. He used to listen to Pahadi songs Jhora, Chhapeli, Chachari, Nyoli, Chhapeli, Jagar etc. Due to poor eyesight, he could not study, but he started singing from childhood.

Uttarakhand resides in the heart of the Prime Minister: Dhami

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has immense love for Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand resides in his heart. It shows his immense attachment to Devbhoomi that the Prime Minister has often mentioned the god-like people, natural wealth, customs and folk traditions in the “Mann Ki Baat” program. This program has given recognition to those working at the smallest level in the country and the world.

Chief Minister Dhami said that on the commencement of Navratri, the “Mann Ki Baat” program is completing 10 years on October 3. Through this program in the last ten years, the Prime Minister has inspired people to do good work by mentioning many works done by social organizations and people in public interest.

The Chief Minister has appealed to the people of the state that we all have to contribute to fulfill the Prime Minister’s resolve to make India a developed nation by 2047.
