Haryana: IAS Vineet Garg Gets Addl Charges, 60,000 Security Personnel Deployed Ahead of Assembly Election

To ensure security and stability, Haryana is ramping up security measures as it prepares for assembly elections scheduled for October 5. A total of 225 paramilitary companies and 60,000 security personnel have been deployed across the state to ensure a peaceful electoral process, according to an official statement.

Additionally, senior IAS officer Vineet Garg, a 1991-batch Haryana cadre officer, has been assigned the additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary of the Excise & Taxation Department. Previously, Mr. Garg held the position of Additional Chief Secretary in the School Education Department.

In another administrative shift, HCS officer Shambhu has been appointed as Joint Director (Admin) of Sewa Haryana. Shambhu is currently serving as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at the Haryana Staff Selection Commission.
