The state got a big gift on Navratri, 480 MW additional power will be available from the central pool, CM Dhami expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and Energy Minister

Dehradun. The people of the state will now get uninterrupted electricity even in winter. The central government has increased the additional power quota allocated to Uttarakhand by 180 MW and also extended its time period till 30 June 2025. On September 26, 300 MW additional power was allocated to Uttarakhand by the Center till 31 March 2025. Thus, now a total of 480 MW additional power will be available to Uttarakhand from the central pool. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Energy Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for this.

Chief Minister Dhami had met Union Energy Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and requested to allocate additional power to Uttarakhand from the central pool to get rid of the power crisis in the state. The Chief Minister told the Union Minister that the gap between the demand and availability of electricity in the state is continuously increasing. To increase power generation, the state government is working on a long-term plan for power generation from solar energy, hydro power and coal.

On the effective advocacy of Chief Minister Dhami, the Center has increased the quota of additional electricity for Uttarakhand. Due to snowfall and other reasons in winter, the decline in the production of hydropower projects often affects the power supply in the state. Now with the increase in the additional quota from the central pool, consumers will get uninterrupted electricity even in winter.

At the same time, CM Dhami said that he is thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Energy Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for approving 480 MW of additional power to Uttarakhand from the central pool. With the receipt of 480 MW of power from the central pool, now the people of the state will continue to get uninterrupted electricity even in winter.
