Dehradun: The Home Ministry of the Government of India has given NOC to the state government for parking the open space in the Metropol Hotel complex located in Nainital. The Home Ministry has given this permission on temporary and ad hoc basis keeping in mind the public interest. On which Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
In fact, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had written a letter to the Union Home Minister, requesting permission for parking the open space in the Metropol Hotel complex, Mallital, Nainital. In such a situation, the Government of India has made it clear in the NOC that this arrangement will be as per the instructions of the courts and will not be valid as settlement or permanent transfer of enemy property, because, no permission will be given to build any kind of permanent structure on enemy property.
As per the state government policy, 90 per cent of the rental income from the lease of the parking lot will be sent to the Custodian of Enemy Property (CEPI), which will become a part of the Consolidated Fund of India (CFI). Also, the Home Ministry has directed that representatives of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Custodian will also be compulsorily present in the bidding process for surface parking. As per the state government policy, the rental income from leasing the parking lot will be given to the highest bidder. After getting permission from the Enemy Property Custodian Office, it can be used for parking. If parking is built on the entire property, then its capacity will be more than one and a half thousand vehicles.
