In a significant development, the Odisha government has appointed retired IPS officer Dr. Lalit Das as the Chairman of the Odisha Subordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC). Alongside him, retired IAS officer Dr. Uddhaba Chandra Majhi and retired OAS officer Saroj Kumar Mishra have been named as members of the commission. Their appointments are expected to bring substantial experience and expertise to the functioning of the OSSSC, which plays a key role in recruiting subordinate staff for the state government.
