Dehradun: Responsibility of districts with poor performance in Jal Jeevan Mission in Uttarakhand will be fixed. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has expressed displeasure over poor performance during the review meeting of Jal Jeevan Mission and summoned the report from the officials. The Chief Secretary has given strict instructions to the District Magistrates of the districts where the performance has been less than expected to regularly monitor the scheme and review it every week and send the report to the government.
Let us tell you that many questions have been raised on the work going on in Jal Jeevan Mission, but this time Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has also expressed her displeasure over the slow pace of work during the review meeting. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has strictly asked the officials to take necessary steps to improve the districts with poor performance. During this, the District Magistrates were also instructed to compulsorily review the works of Jal Jeevan Mission every week.
Village’s every house water certification report summoned
At the same time, along with the physical progress of the schemes, action taken report, village’s every house water certification report has also been summoned. CS Radha Raturi clarified that the District Magistrates will have to work to activate the technical team along with the administrative machinery by constantly monitoring and inspecting the field works.
During this time, instructions have been given to the officers in Jal Jeevan Mission to pay special attention to the matter of quality and take action by fixing responsibility. The Chief Secretary also advised to give personal responsibility to the District Magistrates for the effective implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission.
Road cutting work will not be done without the permission of DM
Apart from this, instructions were also given to get the scheme inspected regularly through CDO, BDO and field officers. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary also clarified that in no case will the work of road cutting be done by the Water Institute or Jal Mission without the permission of the District Magistrate.
