Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi reviewed the preparations for Skill Development and Employment Conclave

Dehradun: For preparing the roadmap for providing better opportunities for skill development and employment to the youth of Uttarakhand, in a meeting related to organizing the Skill Development and Employment Conclave in Dehradun in the month of November, Chief Secretary Smt. Radha Raturi has instructed all the departments to send the working plan with data within a week in this regard at the Secretariat today. CS Smt. Radha Raturi has said that on the basis of the said working plan, a clear and effective action plan of the state government can be finalized in the Skill Development and Employment Conclave.

Highlighting the importance of the Skill Development and Employment Conclave, Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi said that the main objective of this conclave is to empower the youth of the state, take advantage of technology and solve the employment challenges in both urban and rural areas of Uttarakhand to promote inclusive development.

Roadmap will be prepared with active participation of various departments in the conclave

Chief Secretary Smt. Radha Raturi directed that in the said conclave, a roadmap for skill development and employment will be prepared with the coordinated efforts of Skill Development and Employment Department, Higher Education, Technical Education, Women and Child Development, Labour, Information Technology Development Agency (ITDA), Tourism, Urban Development, Rural Development, Industry, Social Welfare, Forest, Energy, Agriculture and allied departments.

Chief Secretary Smt. Radha Raturi said that this conclave will receive support from NITI Aayog, UNDP, International Labor Organization, Human Development Institute, Indian Entrepreneurship Development Institute and UNICEF.

Information sought on skilling ecosystem in departments at present

Chief Secretary Smt. Radha Raturi has directed the concerned departments to highlight the gaps, case studies and best practices in the field of skill development. The Chief Secretary has directed to submit a report on what ecosystem currently exists for skill development in the internal system of the departments. She has directed to give clear information on certification through departmental training, training infrastructure of departments, use of training centers of departments for general skill development, training modes (online, offline, hybrid), arrangement of funds, coordination of other departments with the Skill and Employment Department of the state, challenges of skill development training.

Chief Secretary Smt. Radha Raturi has also directed the departments to send suggestions regarding making skill development more effective.

Setu Ayog Vice President Shri Rajshekhar Joshi, Shri Vinay Shankar Pandey, along with secretaries, additional secretaries and officers of all the concerned departments were present in the meeting.
