Uttarakhand: Laxity in CM Helpline complaints cost SDM and many other officers dearly, DM stops salary before Diwali

Srinagar: SDM Kotdwar of Pauri district has to pay heavily for not resolving public complaints lodged in CM Helpline on time. DM Ashish Chauhan has given instructions to stop his salary before Diwali. Along with this, instructions have also been issued to stop the salary of DPRO Pauri, DFO Lansdowne and Medical Officer (Animal Husbandry). At the same time, show cause notices have been issued to 21 departments including Revenue Department, Energy Department, Public Works Department, Drinking Water Department and Rural Development Department.

Explanation sought from mining officer for not inspecting

District Magistrate Ashish Chauhan has sought an explanation from the mining officer for not regularly inspecting the mining sites. Meanwhile, the DM instructed the sub-district magistrates to ensure joint raids with the mining department. If anyone is caught during raids in areas where there is a possibility of illegal mining, take strict action against him.

State Tax Kotdwar got less revenue this year

State Tax Kotdwar gave clarification to DM Ashish Chauhan on getting less revenue this year as compared to last year. State Tax Kotdwar had received 56.72 revenue last year in 2023-24, but in this financial year only 53.42 revenue has been received. In such a situation, the DM instructed the department to work seriously.

Instructions to select land for keeping seized vehicles

DM Ashish Chauhan, during the review of the Transport Department, has instructed the RTO to select land for keeping seized vehicles. Meanwhile, he said that by increasing further progress, ensure speeding up revenue recovery and conduct regular checking campaigns.

Strict action against lazy officers

Let us tell you that in this financial year, 43,081 vehicles have been checked, 8,123 challans and 291 vehicles have been seized by the Transport Department. At the same time, raids have been conducted at 181 mining sites by the Mining Department and Revenue Department. At the same time, DM Ashish Chauhan said that 119 complaints of the district are still registered in CM Helpline even after more than 36 days. That is why strict action is being taken against lazy officials.
