Dehradun registry fraud: The tenure of the SIT formed for investigation extended by four months, the Governor gave approval

Dehradun: The tenure of the SIT investigating the registry fraud has been extended for four more months. Now this SIT will remain in existence till 28 February 2025. So far, about 30 cases have been registered in the investigation of the SIT. About 20 accused have been arrested in these.

Let us tell you that last year, the registry fraud was revealed in a complaint received in the District Magistrate’s public hearing program. At that time it was found that the land mafia had tampered with the documents of the valuable lands of Dehradun and sold them to others. When the investigation progressed, even a famous advocate of Dehradun was arrested in this. After this, a three-member SIT was formed under the Stamp and Registration Department on 25 July.

More than 150 complaints were received one after the other. On 16 March, the tenure of the SIT was extended till 30 September. Now the Governor has again approved to extend its tenure till 28 February 2025. Finance Secretary Dilip Javalkar has issued an order in this regard.
