In a significant move aimed at streamlining the state’s law enforcement structure, the Government of Tripura has announced the transfer of eleven senior IPS and TPS officers.

The order, issued on Monday by the General Administration (Personnel & Training) Department, comes into immediate effect and is described as being in the best interest of public service.

As per the detailed notification, the reshuffle spans various districts and positions, reflecting the government’s continuous effort to optimize police services across the state. Among the notable transfers:

2014 batch IPS officer Bhanupada Chakraborty, previously the SP of North District, has now been reassigned to the Police Headquarters (PHQ) in Agartala. This move underscores the need for experienced officers in centralized positions, where they can coordinate broader security efforts.

Mihir Lal Das, TPS Gr–I, who was serving as the SP in charge of Cyber Crime, has been moved to Dhalai as the new SP, where he will be responsible for overseeing law and order in a district known for its administrative challenges.

Ashish Kumar Thakur, 2022 batch IPS officer, who had been awaiting posting, will now take charge as the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Kanchanpur, a vital post to ensure the security and administrative efficacy in the region.

Debabrata Saha, TPS Gr–II, previously serving as the SDPO of Dharmanagar, has been reassigned as the Deputy SP for the West District, where his experience is expected to contribute to managing the region’s law enforcement and crime prevention efforts.

Sutapa Deb, TPS Gr–II, will now head the SP’s office in the Special Branch (SB), transferring from her position as SP in Khowai.

The notification, signed by S.K. Debbarma, Deputy Secretary to the Government of Tripura, highlights the dynamic nature of administrative assignments within the state’s police force, with the aim of ensuring optimal law enforcement across diverse regions.

This reshuffle follows an earlier notification issued on Saturday, which saw the transfer of 19 police officers with immediate effect, underlining the state’s commitment to efficient and responsive policing.
