In this program, various aspects were discussed to develop Uttarakhand as an important center for film shooting. Uttarakhand Film Development Council CEO and Director General of Information Banshidhar Tiwari, while highlighting the efforts of the state government in this direction, said that there are many attractive film shooting locations in the state, which can attract filmmakers from the country and the world.

Uttarakhand Film Policy 2024: Films in regional languages ​​will get up to 50% subsidy

Tiwari informed that under the recently released Uttarakhand Film Policy 2024, subsidy of up to 50% of the expenditure incurred in the production of regional language films or a maximum of Rs 2 crore will be provided, while for Hindi and other 8th Schedule languages, this grant will be up to 30% or a maximum of Rs 3 crore. Under this new policy, short films, documentaries, OTT and web series have also been included in the subsidy category. Also, grants have been arranged for setting up film cities and film institutes in the state.

Films will preserve the civilization and cultural heritage of the state

Tiwari said that films work to preserve our history, civilization and cultural heritage in a lively form. Festivals like PhulDei, mythological fairs and local languages ​​can be protected and disseminated through films. Places like Adi Kailash, Chakrata, Mana were also mentioned in the conference, which are considered extremely suitable for films.
