The Chief Minister congratulated the people of Igas festival, called upon the people of the state to take forward their folk traditions and folk culture

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has congratulated and wished the people of the state on Igas festival / Old Diwali. In his message issued on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that our folk culture and tradition are the identity of Devbhoomi. He said that the folk culture and folk tradition of any state is the soul of that state, this also includes the festival of Igas. Our folk festivals and rich cultural heritage work to provide vibrancy to social life.

The Chief Minister appealed to the people of the state to cooperate in taking forward their folk culture and folk traditions. He said that just as cultural heritage and pride is being restored in the entire country, in the same way the people of Uttarakhand are celebrating their folk festival Igas with great enthusiasm today. The Chief Minister said that one of the resolutions of Panch Pran in the Amrit Kaal of Independence is that we should be proud of our heritage and culture.

The Chief Minister said that the tradition of public holiday on Igas festival has been started in the state so that our people can connect with their ancestral villages along with their traditions on Igas festival. He said that efforts should also be made to connect our young generation with their folk culture and folk festivals. The Chief Minister also requested the migrant Uttarakhand residents to also try to celebrate their folk festival in their village and participate in the development of the state. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also wished for happiness, peace and prosperity of the people of the state.
