Badrinath Dham will get 24 hours electricity! Approval for Uttarakhand’s first gas insulated substation

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi approved the revised estimate for various development works during the Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) meeting. During this, the establishment of Uttarakhand’s first gas insulated substation in Badrinath was discussed. Along with this, various works under the master plan of Badrinath Dham were also discussed.

The Expenditure Finance Committee under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary considers the revised estimate of various development works. During this, a meeting of the Expenditure Finance Committee was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Radha Raturi in the Secretariat. In which the revised estimate of the works to be done as per the Badrinath Master Plan was discussed. Along with this, the construction of Bageshwar-Amsarkot motor road was also considered. During this, it was decided to establish Uttarakhand’s first gas insulated substation in Badrinath.

Under the Badrinath Dham Master Plan, a 33/11 kV substation and 33 kV along with 11 kV HD/LT line is to be constructed in Badrinath. After which 24 hours power supply will be ensured in Badrinath Dham. Under this, along with the construction of 19.5 km 33 kV power line from Pandukeshwar substation to Badrinath Dham, 11 kV underground power line will also be constructed. Under this project, the first gas insulated substation will be established in Badrinath by Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL).

The revised estimate of Rs 2566.71 lakh has also been approved for the construction of civic amenity building to be prepared by NHPC in Badrinath Dham area. During this, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi said that the number of devotees is continuously increasing in Badrinath Dham. In such a situation, to promote the stay of devotees and local products, to provide Haat Bazaar, resting arrangements for pilgrims and VIPs, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced a master plan in Badrinath under which a civic amenity building is to be constructed.

Under the state plan also, approval was given on the revised estimate of Rs 830.58 lakh for the construction of motor road from Bageshwar-Amsarkot motor road to Nandgaon in Bageshwar district of the state. During this, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has also given directions to the officials to complete the construction work on time and ensure its high quality.
