Kannur Collector IAS Arun K Vijayan to Attend Central Training Amid ADM Death Probe

The Kerala government has permitted Kannur Collector Arun K Vijayan (2016-batch IAS officer) to attend a central training program for IAS officers, conducted by the Department of Personnel and Training, from December 2nd to 27th. Six other IAS officers from the state will also participate.

This marks the third stage of training before promotion to the secretary level. Meanwhile, ADM Padmachandra Kurup will temporarily take charge during Officer Vijayan’s absence, amid ongoing investigations into the death of former Kannur ADM Naveen Babu.

Former ADM Naveen Babu was found dead in his official quarters on October 15th, a day after a farewell function where District Panchayat President and CPI(M) leader PP Divya allegedly made disparaging remarks and raised corruption allegations against him. Following the incident, the state government ordered a probe by the Joint Commissioner of Land Revenue into the circumstances leading to Babu’s death.
