Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for rafting base station, rafting base station to be built in Rishikesh at a cost of Rs 100 crore

Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for the approval of modern rafting base station in Rishikesh under the Special Assistance Scheme for Capital Investment by the Central Government.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Rishikesh has made its place as a major destination for rafting. Now by setting up a rafting base station here at a cost of Rs 100 crore, infrastructure facilities for rafting activities will be developed. This will accelerate rafting activities in Rishikesh, which will benefit in the form of increased tourism activities in the surrounding area. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that under this project, toilets, changing facilities as well as catering facilities will be developed at rafting centers. Along with this, alternative routes are also to be constructed to reduce congestion in the Tapovan area. About 1500 people are also expected to get employment through this project. The state government will provide full cooperation in providing land for the scheme. This work will be completed within the stipulated time frame of two years.
