Devotees coming on winter pilgrimage to 4 Dhams will get 25 percent discount on rent on staying in GMVN hotels – Dhami

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while taking a meeting in the Secretariat on Tuesday, said that devotees coming on the pilgrimage to the winter stay places of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri will be given a 25 percent discount on rent in GMVN hotels. He directed the officials to ensure all the necessary arrangements for the winter travel destinations. Extensive publicity should also be done in various states through various mediums for this journey. He said that the winter journey will also prove to be a game changer in boosting the economy of the state. Along with Panch Badri and Panch Kedar, the Chief Minister has also directed the officials to develop the major sites around the winter travel stay. Regarding the preparations for the upcoming Chardham Yatra, the Chief Minister has instructed the concerned District Magistrates to send a report to the government within a week on the challenges faced in the Chardham Yatra this time and how they can be resolved appropriately. The Chief Minister has also given instructions to build well-organized parking around major populated areas and hotels on the Chardham Yatra routes. He said that the Chardham Yatra is a journey related to the honor and respect of the state. It is our collective responsibility to make the journey convenient and provide every possible facility to the devotees.

The Chief Minister said that the number of devotees in the Chardham Yatra is increasing rapidly every year. In view of the infrastructure development facilities gathered in the four Dhams, work should be done towards increasing the carrying capacity. The major mythological sites around the Chardhams should be developed and they should also be widely publicized. Special attention should be given to roads, drinking water, sanitation, health facilities and other basic facilities on the Chardham Yatra routes. Work should also be done on an alternative route for visiting Yamunotri. The Chief Minister said that for a well-organized Chardham Yatra, a meeting should be held at the government level with the stakeholders. Whatever can be done for the management of the Yatra should be done by taking suggestions from the stakeholders.

The Chief Minister said that preparations should be started from now for the upcoming Ardh Kumbh to be held in Haridwar. This is a big event, work should be done in every field from now to make this event grand. The Chief Minister said that work should also be done at a fast pace on the Ganga Corridor and Sharda Corridor. Work should be done towards alternative routes for the convenience of the visitors in Purnagiri and Kainchi Dham and work should be done with an effective action plan to prevent accidents. Preparations should also be started in view of the upcoming Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra. The Chief Minister has directed the Transport Department to make proper arrangements for transport from the state for Prayagraj Kumbh.

The Chief Minister directed the officials that only local products of Uttarakhand should be provided as honor and gift to the visitors and dignitaries coming to the state. This will also promote Vocal for Local and our local products will get a distinct identity on a wide scale.
