Uttarakhand in the grip of cold, CM Dhami distributed blankets to homeless and destitute people, inspected the night shelter

Dehradun: After snowfall in the hilly districts of Uttarakhand and rain in the plains, the cold has increased considerably. In view of which, late on Tuesday evening, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached ISBT and distributed blankets to the homeless and destitute people to protect them from the cold. Along with this, he also conducted a surprise inspection of the night shelter located in Transport Nagar.

Along with taking stock of the various arrangements of the night shelter, CM Dhami also inquired about the well-being of the people living there. During this, Chief Minister Dhami also got information from the people about the facilities being provided by the administration. Chief Minister Dhami also sat by the bonfire with the workers living in the night shelter. Along with this, the officials have also been asked to make necessary arrangements for the workers living there. He said that the people living on the roadside in the city, homeless people and their families should also be shifted to the night shelter. Women, sick people, especially children and disabled people should be given the facilities of night shelter. During this, CM Dhami has also asked the concerned officials to make arrangements for food as per the need in the night shelter. He also instructed the officials to distribute blankets, warm clothes as well as light bonfires at various places to protect from cold. Officials have also been instructed to make necessary arrangements for the passengers coming to ISBT to avoid cold.
