CM Dhami gave instructions to maintain the availability of buses on Delhi route, Transport Corporation started managing buses on alert mode

Dehradun: Due to the implementation of GRAP-4 (Graded Response Action Plan) policy in the National Capital Region Delhi, in view of the difficulties being faced in the entry of vehicles in Delhi, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation to keep public transport services smooth on this route. After this, the Transport Corporation is trying to provide all kinds of services to the passengers by increasing the frequency of buses as well as operating newly purchased buses.

Additional Secretary Transport, Narendra Kumar Joshi said that in view of the ban on entry of BS-3 and BS-4 buses of Uttarakhand Transport Corporation into New Delhi, Uttarakhand Transport Corporation has taken several steps in line with the instructions of the Chief Minister. At present, Uttarakhand Transport Corporation has 185 CNG buses available, which are being operated on the Delhi route.

Along with this, 12 BS6 model Volvo buses are being operated on Delhi route by increasing their frequency through rescheduling. Apart from this, 130 BS6 model diesel buses recently purchased by the corporation are also being operated on Delhi route from various stations of the state.

The Additional Secretary Transport said that currently, due to lean sizzle, the availability of passengers is only around 50 percent, yet if the number of Delhi passengers increases at a particular station, then instructions have been given to operate additional buses immediately. He said that the buses which are not able to enter Delhi are being transported to Mohannagar and Kaushambi (Uttar Pradesh) on the Delhi border as per the requirement of the passengers. Coordination is also being made with Delhi Road Transport for the use of DTC buses to transport passengers from the border to Delhi. Along with this, all the depots and all the officers of Uttarakhand have been kept on alert mode. The effort of Uttarakhand Transport Corporation is that no passenger faces any difficulty in travelling from Uttarakhand to Delhi. The situation of travel of passengers is completely normal.
