Tableau based on Uttarakhand’s “adventure sports” selected for Republic Day parade, Dhami said – Adventure sports of Uttarakhand are getting recognition

Dehradun: Uttarakhand State “Adventure Sports” has been finally selected by the Government of India in the tableau to be displayed on the duty path in New Delhi for the Republic Day Parade-2025. Giving this information, Director General Information, Shri Banshidhar Tiwari said that in the month of October, 2024, a total of 34 states and union territories had sent their proposals to the Expert Committee constituted under the Ministry of Defense, Government of India, in various meetings, Nodal Officer and Joint Director, Information, Shri K.S. Chauhan presented the design, model and music of the tableau of Uttarakhand State in front of the Expert Committee. The final selection has been done after the Government of India, through its letter dated 21 December 2024, found the design, model and music of the tableau of Uttarakhand state to be excellent.

This time, the tableau of a total of 15 states including Uttarakhand state has been finalized for the Republic Day parade, in which Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal including Chandigarh and Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Union Territory have been selected.

This time in the tableau of Uttarakhand state, a woman in Uttarakhandi attire has been shown making the famous Aipan art in the front part of the tableau and adventure sports like rock climbing, paragliding, bungee jumping, hill cycling, trekking, river rafting, skiing in Auli and zip-lining and rock climbing in Rishikesh have been shown in the middle and rear part of the tableau. This time the tableau of Uttarakhand state will be the centre of attraction in the Republic Day parade. It is noteworthy that from the year 2003 to 2023, the following tableaux have been displayed by the state of Uttarakhand on the path of duty:-

  1. Year 2003 – Phuldei
  2. Year 2005 – Nanda Rajjat
  3. Year 2006 – Valley of Flowers
  4. Year 2007 – Corbett National Park
  5. Year 2009 – Adventure Tourism
  6. Year 2010 – Kumbh Mela Haridwar
  7. Year 2014 – Herbs
  8. Year 2015 – Kedarnath
  9. Year 2016 – Ramman
  10. Year 2018 – Rural Tourism
  11. Year 2019 – Anashakti Ashram (Kausani stay and Anashakti)
  12. Year 2021 – Kedarkhand (Third place)
  13. Year 2022 – Uttarakhand moving towards progress
  14. Year 2023 – Manaskhand (First place)

Apart from this, the Uttarakhand tableau developed for Bharat Parv in 2024 was displayed at the Red Fort.
