I express my condolences to his family and fans.’ Along with this, he said that Manmohan Singh has taken the country out of the financial crisis.

PM Modi said, ‘Manmohan Singh’s life was a reflection of his honesty and simplicity. He was a distinguished parliamentarian. Manmohan Singh’s life will always give a lesson that how a person can rise above deprivation and struggle and achieve success.’

At the same time, PM Modi wrote an emotional message as soon as he got the news of Manmohan Singh’s death on Thursday night. On the social media platform X, PM Modi wrote, ‘India is mourning the death of Dr. Manmohan Singh ji, one of its most distinguished leaders. Rising from a simple background, he became a distinguished economist. He served in various government positions including Finance Minister and left a deep mark on our economic policy for years. His interventions in Parliament were also very practical. As our Prime Minister, he made extensive efforts to improve the lives of the people.’

Seven days of national mourning

The central government has declared seven days of national mourning on the death of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Manmohan Singh’s last rites will be performed with full state honors. Sources said that all government programs scheduled for Friday have been cancelled. A meeting of the Union Cabinet will be held on Friday in which tributes will be paid to the former Prime Minister.
