Dehradun: 10 thousand policemen will be deployed for security arrangements in the National Games. The police claim that the policemen will be with the players like a shadow for their security. Every activity of the National Games will be captured in CCTV cameras. DGP Deepam Seth held a meeting with police officers regarding security arrangements. During this, he discussed the duty of the force, traffic plan, parking etc. Officers were instructed to complete all the arrangements on time.
DGP Deepam Seth said that everyone has been instructed to perform their duties by being alert and vigilant. Competitions will be held at 19 venues in nine districts from January 28. 10 thousand players will participate in a total of 44 competitions. For this, all the districts have been instructed to plan security at the ground level. Most of the preparations have been completed. They are being monitored daily.
The DGP said that the aim of the police is to make it historic by providing flawless security arrangements. This event is a big opportunity to showcase the capabilities and beauty of Uttarakhand to the country and the world. For this, the Uttarakhand Police is fully prepared to complete it in a safe and secure manner.
There will be coordination with event management agencies
The DGP said that the security of the players is most important. Instructions have been given to the officers to ensure effective access control at their places of stay, routes from there to the venues, practice sessions, competitive events. Special attention will be given to the safety of women players. For security, the police will coordinate with event management agencies Deepali Design, Grant Thornton and Thomas Cook. Necessary equipment for security arrangements is also being installed at all the venues.
These will be the arrangements
-Control rooms equipped with CCTV have been set up at the places of stay of the players.
-An effective and real time dialogue will be established between all the agencies and the officers.
-The verification of the personnel working at the places of stay of the players will be completed on time.
-The traffic route, entry and exit plan, parking arrangements will be monitored by the traffic director and police in-charge of the respective districts.
-All fire fighting measures including motor fire engines, fire extinguishers etc. will be kept in sufficient numbers at the venues as per the fire safety and security plan.
-Security arrangements will be made as per the standards at airports, railway stations, bus stands etc.
-Various teams are being formed for intelligence.
-24 hour checking will be done by the bomb disposal squad.
-Instructions were given to make the event successful by establishing coordination with the electricity department, drinking water, PWD, fire, SDRF and other related departments.
