Dehradun: Serious irregularities have been found in the land purchased by Haridwar Municipal Corporation. After finding irregularities in the report of the Municipal Commissioner, the government has taken major action against the small officials of the corporation. Four officers have been suspended regarding the matter. While a ‘show cause’ notice has been issued to the Finance Officer.
The land purchase case located at Sarai in Haridwar is gaining momentum. The situation is that earlier Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had given instructions for investigation in view of the seriousness of the matter and now the process of action against the officials in the matter has also been expedited. This matter is related to irregularities in the purchase of land worth crores of rupees. The Dhami government has issued a show cause notice to the senior finance officer in this matter. In this, a notice has been issued to the finance officer for not discharging his duties.
The involvement of a clerk who is on extension after retirement in Haridwar Municipal Corporation has also come to light in the purchase of land. After this, instructions have been given to cancel the extension of service of clerk Vedpal and take disciplinary action against him under the Civil Services Regulation.
The state government has also suspended some officers after prima facie serious irregularities were found in the report of the Municipal Corporation Commissioner in this matter. The officers who have been suspended include Junior Engineer Dinesh Chandra Kandpal, Tax and Revenue Superintendent Laxmikant Bhatt, Assistant Engineer Anand Singh Mishrawan and Executive Officer Ravindra Kumar Dayal.
The special thing is that when this land was purchased, the District Magistrate was handling the responsibility as the administrator in the Municipal Corporation Haridwar. In such a situation, this matter has become even more serious. At present, Karmendra Singh is handling the responsibility as the District Magistrate Haridwar. While the government has nominated Secretary Ranveer Singh Chauhan as the investigating officer in this matter. In this way, the government can take some more big decisions in the coming days, in which there can be a decision related to change of responsibilities regarding senior officials as well.
