Dehradun: A high level investigation will be conducted into the helicopter accident in Gangani, Uttarkashi. CM Dhami has ordered the investigation. CM Dhami gave clear instructions to the officials that the investigation should be transparent and its report should be made available to the government. So that the real reasons of the accident can be known. The Chief Minister also said that proper strategy and solid technical arrangements should be made to prevent such unfortunate incidents from happening again in future. He has asked to review the safety standards and implement all necessary improvements as soon as possible. He said that the government considers public safety paramount.
In fact, on Thursday morning, 8 May, a helicopter of Chardham pilgrims crashed in Gangani, Uttarkashi. 6 people including the pilot died in the accident. While one is injured. The treatment of the injured is going on in AIIMS Rishikesh. In the accident, pilot Robin Singh of Gujarat, three devotees from Maharashtra, one from UP and one from Andhra Pradesh have died. At the same time, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau and Directorate General of Civil Aviation have started investigating the causes of the accident.
According to the information, the helicopter belonged to the private company Aerotrans Service. It was being flown by 60-year-old Robin Singh. The accident happened when the devotees were flying from Kharsali helipad to Gangotri Dham after visiting Yamunotri Dham. It is being told that the accident happened shortly after taking off from the helipad. Where the helicopter fell into a 200 to 250 meter deep gorge in Ganganai. The accident was so terrible that the helicopter was blown to pieces.
