Rudraprayag: Chairman of 16th Finance Commission Dr. Arvind Panagariya and other members of the Commission reached the holy pilgrimage site Lord Shri Kedarnath Dham on Tuesday, May 20. After reaching the door of Baba Kedar, he prayed to Baba Kedarnath and wished for the happiness, prosperity and welfare of the countrymen.
After visiting the Dham, Dr. Arvind Panagariya also did a field inspection of the reconstruction work going on in Kedarpuri. He said that the development and reconstruction work going on in Kedarnath is being done at a very fast pace and with high quality. Appreciating these works, he said that the way the Uttarakhand government and administration is taking care of the convenience and safety of the devotees is commendable.
Dr. Panagariya also said that Kedarnath Dham is not only a center of religious faith. But it is also a wonderful natural heritage located in the lap of the Himalayas. He also praised the natural beauty around the Dham and said that this place is a unique confluence of environmental balance and spiritual peace. On this occasion, other members of the Commission also praised the facilities and arrangements available for the devotees for darshan in the Dham and said that the way this major pilgrimage site of the country is being revived is a matter of pride for the country.
District Magistrate Dr. Saurabh Gaharwar welcomed all the members of the 16th Finance Commission team at Kedarnath Dham. On behalf of the district administration, all the visitors were presented with souvenirs, Kedarnath Dham replicas and shawls made from local products.
