Dehradun: The team shooting Border-2 film in Halduwala village of the capital is very excited about the film policy of the state. On Tuesday, Banshidhar Tiwari, President of Uttarakhand Film Development Council, met actor Sunny Deol and director Anurag Singh.
During the conversation, there was a meaningful discussion on the film policy of Uttarakhand, location diversity and support being given by the state government. The current film policy of Uttarakhand, formed under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, is considered to be one of the most progressive policies in the country. Sunny Deol also looked very comfortable and excited during this time.
Talking about Border 2, this film is being made in the production of JP Dutta, Nidhi Dutta and T-Series. Whose shooting is going on in Dehradun since February. It stars prominent actors like Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty.
The film’s producer Binoy Gandhi said that the film is based on the Indo-Pak war of 1971. A grand set of a village in Kashmir has been built in Halduwala area of Dehradun. The film includes scenes of war, tanks and army movement. He said that about 350 local people are getting work daily from this project. During this, the council’s joint CEO Dr. Nitin Upadhyay was also present.

Apart from Border 2, shooting of many major films is going on in Uttarakhand at this time. The shooting of Tanu Weds Manu fame producer Vinod Bachchan’s film Ginny Weds Sunny 2 is going on in Dehradun. The shooting of comedy satire Uttar Da Puttar starring Annu Kapoor, Pawan Malhotra and Bijendra Kala is going on in Dehradun and Rishikesh. The shooting of three Garhwali films Marcha, Teri Maya and Namak is going on in Dehradun, Tehri and Uttarkashi respectively. In the year 2024-25, the government gave 225 shooting permissions
In the recent past, the shooting of many notable Hindi films and web series has been completed in Uttarakhand. Prominent among them are Vicky Vidya Ka Wo Wala Video, Tikdam, Do Patti, Putul, Rautu Ka Raaz, Tanvi the Great, Past Tense, Kesari 2 and Mere Husband Ki Biwi. In the year 2024-25, 225 shooting permissions were issued by the Uttarakhand government.
